Before the December column I attended a late fall lapping day at Mosport and observed how paralyzed with fear most of the entrants were of the track. I thought back to all of the lapping days I had attended at basic tracks like Cayuga and Mosport DDT and realized that it’s more important to develop on a simple track where you can make mistakes, than to crawl around a GP track like Mosport where you will be too afraid to approach the limits of the car. The article was designed to encourage people to go to less prestigious development tracks and push the vehicle to the limit, I am confident they will have more fun and feel more satisfied at the end of the day. My first event at Mosport GP was in a regional race. Needles to say, it was stressful!
