I’m getting the two cars ready for the race this weekend and a lot is going on. Here’s a general list of what we’re working on:

AIM MXL dash installs, with AEM ECU cables, Oil press, Oil Temp, Diff Temp and GPS 05 modules.
We rush ordered KAAZ 1.5 way diffs to get in the cars as the OS Gikens are taking too long, SHOULD be here from Korea by tuesday. I hope.
87 needs new axles too after the other ones were fried from the last race.
Diff coolers for both cars with Genesis tech lube pumps and Setrab cores
New exhaust for 87 (thats my car), I modified the headers to step up to 1 7/8″ as I felt the 1 5/8″ to 1 3/4″ was too small, and the headers were way too low anyways. I had lots of 1 7/8″ laying around from making headers and some new SPD collectors, they came out pretty nice. Got a Vibrant 2.5″ to 3.5″ slip fit y-pipe and 2 race mufflers in 3.5″ so the car should sound like Kels with any luck.

Swapped exhaust on the other car back to its original exhaust to find a hugeee power loss I thought it had. Turns out it was me being a FUCKIGN IDIOT and doing the dyno pulls in the wrong gear. It’s one thing when it’s your own car, but when you’ve told the team owner and the other driver that the one car was down 80 ft lbs of tq it’s a little bit more ridiculous to try and explain. Hahaha all I can do is laugh!

Found out the dampers have only about 7/8″ of travel before they are solid on the bump stops, which is awesome. Going to be fun driving around mosport with zero bump travel while trying to be fast and staying alive

Cars are also getting the regular maintenance and Eibach sway bars, which will likely make no difference since we’re on the stops anyways.

As far as kels goes, I had the rear shock clevises machined to offer more bump travel and less droop, as they were way out of the range before. I was only able to get about 5mm by drilling the hole until the knuckle would have hit the bolt that used to hold the clevis in, so we machined a seat into it and used a countersunk allen bolt. Turned out nice and it worked out to almost 2 cm at the wheel!

This will be a hectic week, but I’ll try to keep you all updated on the fun tales and stores of SG,

Sasha
