Here is another wild example of how incredibly efficient Rotrex superchargers are. This one is a Kraftwerkes supercharged 2010 Civic with no more than a 2.5″ exhaust and the supercharger. 370whp is an insane amount of power for a supercharged 2.0L engine on pump fuel, that idles and drives just like stock. And that is at only 10 pounds of boost. This car was tuned with Hondata FlashPro and we were able to make some significant gains over the Kraftwerkes base map, which is likely tuned quite conservatively for the masses.

Interestingly this car doesn’t feel scary fast when you first drive it until you realize that you really need to rev the engine right out to get power from it. Dropping 2000rpm from the 8200rpm limit, you lose over 100whp. Let me put that into perspective for you – if you were to drive this car shifting at 6200rpm, it would be the equivilent of a 260whp vehicle. Another 1000rpm less, and you’re almost 200whp less than peak. These superchargers are great, but you can’t be afraid to run the engine to redline and you really need close gearing to maximize the powerband. The feeling is incredible though the engine just keeps pulling harder and harder (literally) to redline.
