Liam has built himself quite the old-man rocketship. Powered by a 2JZ with a very clean fuel system, fairly large yet responsive Precision 6266 with a divided entry and twin wastegates the engine is otherwise stock with control from an AEM EMS. Outside of the engine bay the car has been properly prepared for drifting with Liam’s own custom front knuckles along with large wheel tubs to accomodate big steering lock.

Tuned on 94 octane the car put down over 500hp to the wheels and a huge amount of torque to go with it. The turbo is in at 4000rpm so the powerband is huge – and with that much torque it’s more akin to a supercharged V8 than a turbo 3L.

We raised the boost beyond 6000rpm to help broaden the powerband slightly – part of the reason the engine is so torquy is because the port sizes and intake manifold is a bit on the small side – this engine has a 1JZ head. With shorter runners and a 2J head or some real port work the engine should make close to 600whp.

Quoting Liam: “The car runs perfect, whether I’m getting groceries or walking Ferrari’s”

A clean engine bay is a reliable engine bay.

Look at that power. So much of it.
